We start our literary walk through Alicante in Central Market. Built in 1921, from the first moment Alicante Central Market became one of the most important meeting places for Alicante society. Italian aviation forces, under General Franco's orders, bombed it at 11:15 a.m. on May 25, 1938. The bombing killed more than 300 people and was one of the bloodiest episodes of the Spanish Civil War (1936-39).
